Who This Plan Is For

You are a software engineer who already ships code in at least one language. You've built services, worked with HTTP APIs, and been on call for a production incident or two. But you haven't written much production Go, and networking/security protocols live in the "I know what they do, not how they work" category.

This plan fixes that. After 120 days you will:

  • Write idiomatic, production-quality Go from scratch
  • Understand networking from L4 (TCP/UDP) to L7 (HTTP, WebSocket, TLS) — by building it
  • Build WAF, DDoS mitigation, bot detection, and API protection systems
  • Have the hands-on experience to build, review, debug, and design security infrastructure

Ground rules:

  • 1 hour/day. No exceptions. Protect this time.
  • Standard library only (net, crypto/tls, net/http, sync, context, etc.)
  • Every week ends with a mini project. Build it. Don't skip it.
  • Each day has a "Why this matters" — connect the code to real engineering decisions you'd make as an EM
